Heeding the Voice of God
Dec 10, 2025
The LORD your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among you, from your fellow Israelites. You must listen to him.
Deuteronomy 18:15 (NIV)
In today's verse, we are reminded of the significance of listening to God's chosen mediators. These individuals, much like the prophet Moses, are driven by divine calling and powerfully guided by the Holy Spirit. They have an essential role in relaying God's will, his teachings, and his guidance to us.
As followers of Christ, we must be sensitive to their words and seek to apply the wisdom they share in our lives. By doing so, we align ourselves with God's purpose, ensuring that our actions and decisions are rooted in His divine plan.
Often, the challenge lies in distinguishing between this heavenly guidance and the distracting whispers of the world. Our hearts must be tuned into the frequency of God’s voice, distinguishing it amidst the constant noise around us. This spiritual discernment comes from a deep, intimate relationship with God, cultivated through prayer, worship, study of His word, and fellowship with other believers.
So let us seek this divine wisdom, not just from scripture and prayer, but also through godly counsel offered by His chosen prophets and leaders. Heeding their advice opens up new perspectives, strengthens our faith, and brings us closer to the heart of God.
Today’s Prayer:
Dear Heavenly Father, we thank you for your chosen servants who deliver your holy wisdom to us. Open our hearts to receive their guidance, help us discern your voice amidst the noise of the world and strengthen our resolve to obey. May we grow in spiritual discernment, always attuned to your will. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
